Reasons why we can't delete .IN account details

In line with India's applicable current license requirements, we must abide by several forms of legislation such as, but not limited to, the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.

In particular, Section 12 of the PMLA requires us to retain certain customer information we store in our database for up to 5 years following the last transaction made by a customer.

This requirement supersedes any rights that may arise under separate legislation, including but not limited to the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Information Technology (Reasonable security practices and procedures and sensitive personal Information) Rules, 2011.

However, in the absence of any other legal requirement, we'll delete your details following the expiry of the applicable retention period.
